Position: Charge Nurse LPN Full Time

Starting wages at $40.40-$47.45 per hour

Compensation

Wage based on experience, shift, a $3.40/hr Michigan Direct Care Incentive, and a $4/hr weekend warrior program.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN school of Nursing
  • Valid LPN license in the state of employment
  • Valid CPR certification
  • One year of nursing experience preferred
Job Functions
  • Document resident’s condition and nursing needs
  • Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders
  • Assign nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff abilities
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs
  • Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents and document treatments as required
  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel
  • Ensure supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely
  • Report and record relevant observations and responses regarding residents
  • Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments
  • Interview applicants and recommend hires
  • Participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff as permitted by state practice act
  • Supervise nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff as permitted by state practice act
  • Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit and communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

  • Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Effective communication with residents, families, and all levels of the organization
  • Decisive and quick reaction in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
