Position: Global Security Operations Center Specialist (Part -Time)

Global Security Operations Center Specialist — PT hours with 1st/2nd shift coverage between 8a and 10p, including every other weekend. This is a benefits-eligible PT position.

Responsibilities
  • Dispatching, access control, alarm and surveillance system monitoring; reviewing threat reports and assisting with security operations and law enforcement communication.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and accurately report card access and door control systems.
  • Support a schedule that may vary based on operational needs; 24/7 operation.
  • Actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day management role.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Global Security Operations Center.
  • Handle incoming communications, including routine and emergency calls.
  • Coordinate security responses to activities and incidents; identify, assess, and coordinate responses to incidents with potential to impact the company.
  • Escalate and disseminate incident information to management; respond to inquiries and intake security-related reports; record calls and coordinate responses per procedures.
  • Monitor proprietary software, external intelligence feeds/alerts, access control, and video monitoring systems to identify incidents; use CAD, radio, fire/burglar alarm and video systems to facilitate responses.
  • Activate mass notification and generate written alerts about incidents impacting the business; escalate significant incidents to management.
  • Conduct initial threat reviews and coordinate with law enforcement per procedures; process urgent information requests from law enforcement; route calls to appropriate parties.
  • Maintain system maintenance by testing fire monitoring software and managing site coverage when only one associate is present.
  • Liaise between physical security and vendors; report and record facilities maintenance requests; audit security systems for proper functionality.
  • Work independently with limited supervision; proficient in Microsoft Office and security-related programs.
  • Review, process and communicate threat management notifications; enforce Miller Knoll policies professionally.
  • Prepare reports and activity logs; protect sensitive information; interpret written and verbal instructions and policies in English.
  • Regular and predictable attendance; use provided resources to make decisions without direct supervision; work in a team to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience
One of the following is required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Work experience demonstrating performance competency
  • Prior public safety, military, or security officer-related job experience is preferred

Licenses and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. First aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to certify within 30 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels within the organization, external agencies, and the public in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security/office automation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, and de-escalation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple duties with confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize decisions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical requirements:

    ability to stand/sit for extended periods, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate in various environments.
  • Specific vision abilities and ability to hear in noisy environments.
