Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator with experience in loading heavy loads onto flatbed trailers, including preparing materials by properly banding orders together prior to loading to ensure safe and secure transport. The ideal candidate should be proficient in operating forklifts and have a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

The person in this position will be responsible for efficiently and safely banding orders together and then loading heavy materials onto flatbed trailers for transport. This process includes ensuring that materials are properly banded and secured, creating stable, consolidated loads. Attention to detail and a strong focus on safety are paramount, particularly when preparing loads for transport.

This position is approximately 60% banding and 40% forklift operation.

Monday – Friday 2:30 – 11 p.m.

$19.50/hr. (bi-weekly pay). Overtime on occasion based on business demands.

• Operates a forklift to move product and pallets throughout warehouse to an area safely.
• Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with Supervisor.
• Ensures that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirm product labels are accurate.
• Maintains a clean and safe area free and clear of any debris.
• Anticipates the needs of the business, keeping like product together and accessible.
• Successfully pass all Novo forklift training and operate a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.
• May place standup items into designated area by hand as required.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed.
• Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements.
• Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight.
• Experience with operating a forklift with rate rating of 6,500 pounds.
• Use of proper PPE and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
• Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more.
• Prior experience lifting wide loads, as long as 18 feet.
• Minimum one year experience operating a forklift.
• High School Diploma or GED.

No travel requirements.
