The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, back up, prepare and restore the job site, and prepare the truck for the following day while maintaining the truck and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with company, state and federal guidelines including OSHA and DOT for safety of all personnel.
- Perform pre‑trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accurate orders.
- Safely unload product and deliver to assigned area as directed by the customer.
- Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck.
- Navigate routes to the job site.
- Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately.
- Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs to carry materials such as drywall or joint compound.
- Core competency: demonstrate trust and integrity, embody servant leadership, and respect diverse perspectives.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, lead, execute, delegate, and collaborate as needed.
- Self‑management, initiative, proactivity, and drive results.
- Professional verbal and written communication with coworkers and customers.
- Remain standing 90% of the time.
- Frequent unloading of materials from commercial motor vehicles onto the job site.
- Unload and load materials from flatbed or boom.
- Move materials weighing up to 100 lbs while unloading and loading flatbed.
- Communicate with management and coworkers accurately in various situations.
- Work outdoors while making deliveries.
- Prioritize job sites and deadlines.
- Manage stress based on customer deadlines.
- Multi‑task effectively.
- Receive and follow information and directions.
- Communicate solutions quickly when problems arise.
- Apply sound judgment.
