* + Participates in peer interviewing and review processes. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.

+ Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.

+ Conducts initial patient assessments within expected time frames, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.

+ Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.

+ Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.

** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
* + Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills required.

+ Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding required.

+ Previous EKG Interpretation Class preferred.

+ Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response.

+ Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties.
