Tender Block

The Tender position is a physically demanding job that consists of pushing, pulling, and constantly lifting concrete blocks weighing an average of 50 lbs. Ability to lift 50lb concrete blocks on a repetitive basis. Must be capable of performing job duties such as bending, squatting, stooping, sweeping, and shoveling. Ability to communicate both verbal & written and understand direction. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to climb conveyors and vertical ladders is needed. Mechanical and repair knowledge needed. Two-handed dexterity needed for the use of tools and equipment. Must be capable of operating a wheeled loader and forklift. Ability and willingness to learn how to execute each operational function as needed; i.e. operator, cuber, forklift, etc. Ability to maintain and enforce a safe working environment.

Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Electrical, welding and fabricating background a plus. Forklift experience highly preferred. Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors. Must wear protective equipment while at the location. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.

Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls. Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree. Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
