Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in Zion, IL, for a Special Education Coordinator who holds a Type 75 Administrative certification.
The responsibilities include collaboratively developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the needs of students with special education requirements. The Coordinator will oversee compliance with federal and state regulations, work with educators to support inclusive education practices, develop specialized curriculum, and provide training and guidance to staff on special education programs and instructional strategies. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with families to foster effective communication and support for student success.
Qualifications- Strong expertise in Special Education and Teaching, with a deep understanding of inclusive education practices.
- Proficiency in Curriculum Development and implementing tailored educational programs for diverse learners.
- Experience in Educational Leadership with the ability to mentor and guide staff in providing effective educational services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Education and an understanding of federal and state regulations related to special education.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families, staff, and students.
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field required; relevant licensure or certification in special education is preferred.
- Previous experience as a special education teacher or coordinator is highly desirable.
