POSITION TITLE:
SUMMER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL (2 positions)
Reports to:
Director of Teaching and Learning
Summer School Principal Salary: $3,000
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To facilitate development, implementation and evolution of curricular, instructional and personnel functions of summer school, in order to continually improve student performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Administrative License (Illinois)
* Minimum of 3 years secondary administrative and supervisory experience.
* Master's degree
* Minimum of 3 years secondary teaching experience.
* Word processing, Excel, PPT, and Visio proficiency including statistical and layout typing.
* Ability to input or retrieve data, effectively and efficiently, in a user friendly manner.
* Adaptable, flexible, and willingness to learn new technologies.
* Ability to lead all phases of instructional programs.
* Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of audiences.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs and Leads On-Going Summer School Improvement
Essential Duties:
* Develops and evaluates summer school programs
* Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate
* Confers with staff, students and community members on summer school problems and needs
* Works with district office on long-range summer school planning
* Acts as Liaison to the Community
* Interprets summer school program to community members
* Maintains relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agencies
* Serves as information liaison between the summer school building and the community at large
* Represents the summer school system at professional meetings and conferences
* Speaks at public meetings on issues of general or specific pertinence to the summer school's programs
* Supervises Staff
Working Conditions:
* Indoor classrooms/School, exposure to: student noise, lawn mowing, music, odors of food, mowed grass and possible communicable diseases.
* Outdoor schoolyard and grounds, field trips; exposure to; temperatures (hot warm, cool, cold), and exposure to mowed grass.
* Regular and consistent work attendance.
