Terms of Employment: 12 Months
Starting Salary: $80,000
The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for providing instructional leadership across subject areas. Position objectives include studying, evaluating, and implementing research‑based curriculum and instruction; providing leadership in the development, articulation, and implementation of an instructional program; improving the instructional program by assisting with program evaluation; and assisting in the coordination of relevant staff development. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to coordinating, supporting, organizing, and implementing PreK‑8th Grade curriculum, instruction, pacing guides and assessment alignment within the schools and providing leadership for district‑wide initiatives and state law.
Qualifications:- Illinois Professional Educator License
- Administrative Endorsement (Preferred)
- Master's Degree in related field
- At least 3‑5 years of successful teaching or administrative experience
- Illinois driver's license
- Graduate work and/or experience in:
- Curriculum development, instruction, and assessment
- Successful teaching experience at more than one grade level
- Experience in staff development work
- Successful leadership experience
- Curriculum Adoption Processes
- Preschool Programming (PFA)
- Common Core and Illinois State Standards
- Oversees alignment of curriculum with the Illinois Learning Standards.
- Assists in the development and implementation of Zion District 6 Scope/Sequence documents as well as related pacing guides.
- Provides leadership to assure correlation between district curriculum and state/national standards, ensuring compliance with ISBE's units of study.
- Previews new instructional materials, coordinates the appropriate implementation, and creates and monitors curriculum adoption process.
- Coordinates projects and curricular recommendation with the Teaching and Learning Department and Building Administrators.
- Provides input for the Teaching and Learning budget.
- Development and leadership of a curriculum adoption committee.
- Updates current curriculum to include research‑based instruction.
- Assists in the assessment of curriculum effectiveness on student learning outcomes.
- Assisting in the coordination of relevant staff development.
- Management and ordering of curriculum materials.
