Empower students to reach their full potential as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school environment near Zion, IL. This in-person, full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of students with special needs. The school is seeking passionate educators for two impactful roles:
Life Skills Self-Contained or Instructional/Resource, with assignments available August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027.

Ideal candidates bring dedication, adaptability, and expertise in special education practices to foster academic growth and independence for each student. Your skills will help nurture a collaborative and inclusive classroom community.

Qualifications
  • Valid and active Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education (please be prepared to present a copy during the application process)
  • Experience teaching students with special needs in either a Life Skills Self-Contained or Instructional/Resource setting preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and commitment to student growth
Responsibilities
  • Teach and support students with diverse learning challenges, tailoring instruction to individual needs
  • Manage classroom dynamics, behavior interventions, and academic activities
  • Collaborate with instructional teams, support staff, and parents to promote student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in line with district guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing professional learning
