Special Education Teacher - Zion, IL

Step into an impactful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting exceptional learners in an instructional/resource capacity. This full-time, in-person position spans the academic year from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with approximately 33.25 hours per week located near Zion, IL. Your expertise and passion will play a vital role in creating inclusive educational experiences for students in need of tailored support and instruction.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required; please provide a current copy upon application
• Experience teaching or supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation process
• Ability to adapt instruction to varied learning needs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
• Familiarity with evidence-based special education strategies and instructional tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction for students requiring resource support
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate educational records and document student progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to foster meaningful inclusion
• Participate in IEP meetings and staff professional development sessions
• Support a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
