Special Education Teacher | Zion, Illinois

Make a lasting impact by supporting students unique learning needs as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract position offers a fulfilling opportunity to work in person, full time, guiding students through tailored, resource-based instruction.

• Current and active Professional Educator License (PEL) required; please be prepared to provide a copy upon request
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of instructional and resource support models for students receiving special education services
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, students, and families
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments

• Deliver direct instruction and resource support to students requiring special education services
• Develop, adapt, and modify instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure successful student outcomes
• Create IEPs, monitor progress, and document student growth
• Manage classrooms and small group instruction with patience, adaptability, and creativity
• Serve as an advocate for students, helping them achieve their personal and academic goals

This position is full time, averaging approximately 33.25 hours per week, providing you with the stability and consistency needed to build meaningful relationships with your students. The assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027.

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.05 to $48.05.
