The Director of Nursing at Allure of Zion is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and direction of the nursing department. The DON works closely with the Administrator and Medical Director to ensure regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and a positive nursing culture.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical & Regulatory Leadership
:
Lead, plan, and direct nursing services in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain survey readiness and participate in state and federal surveys. - Staffing & Operations
:
Ensure appropriate staffing levels for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs across all shifts. Oversee nursing schedules, assignments, and delegation of responsibilities. - Clinical Oversight
:
Review nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and resident-centered care. Monitor medication administration and treatment compliance. - Care Planning & Interdisciplinary Collaboration
:
Partner with the MDS/Care Plan team to ensure timely and accurate assessments. Encourage resident and family involvement in care planning. - Education & Development
:
Support ongoing education, in-services, and competency development. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Required
:
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
, Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience
, Current CPR certification
, Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes, Ability to lead with professionalism, fairness, and consistency. - Preferred
:
Prior DON or ADON experience in a skilled nursing environment, Experience with QAPI and survey recovery.
- Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Ability to assist during emergency situations if required.
