Registered Nurse, ICU
Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of critically ill medical and surgical adolescent/adult patients. Provides acute care per protocols and assists with special procedures. Directs care delivered by patient care partners and other health‑care team members. Collaborates with physicians to evaluate patient readiness for changes in level of care and cares for med‑surg and telemetry patients as needed. Recovers MAC local patients when PACU is not open.
Interprets and operates cardiac and other invasive and noninvasive monitors, recognizes normal/abnormal rhythms and trends, and institutes appropriate interventions. Provides care for patients with complex needs, including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients. Initiates and maintains complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters, and arterial lines. Utilizes less invasive, life‑supporting modalities such as BiPAP, ETCO₂, arterial pressure‑based CO/CI and SVO₂ monitoring, and core temperature monitoring.
- Critical Care / Telemetry experience
- Current IL RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified through the American Heart Association
- OCN certification within 18 months of hire or 36 total CE in oncology every Commission of Cancer cycle of three years, with completion of 12 CE every year (surgical services exempt)
