The Vice President of Product Management is a hands-on leader who is responsible for establishing the product roadmap, ensuring that it supports the overall Company strategy. This role is also responsible for managing the product engineering team while also being the primary technical support for the Company’s sales team.

Roadmap:
Develop and maintain a competitive profile for all known competitors to include who, what and where they play, as well as how/ why they are strong or weak in certain areas, and how the Company can capitalize. Working with inputs from the sales team and Company leadership, develop and manage a product roadmap to ensure the Company has an up-to-date and competitive product offering.
This will include both new product development and product obsolescence. - Personnel Management: Directly manage and oversee the Company product engineering team. Ensure the team is appropriately staffed, properly trained, understands their role and projects are completed accurately, timely and in a cost-effective manner.
- Company Strategy: Be part of the team that develops and implements the Company strategy. Provide technical and product input, and lead initiatives to make the Company more competitive. Proactively monitor market and regulatory changes and communicate impact on strategy.
- Sales Support: Must be able to interact on a commercial level. This role will provide support to the sales team such as proper product selection, application expertise and direct customer interaction – potentially making direct calls or visits to customers with or without the sales team.
- Sales Training: Provide product, application and/ or systems training to Company sales team, including independent manufacturers reps, and customers.
- Pricing: Ensure product costs are calculated correctly. Set price on new products that supports Company price and margin expectations.
- Interface across all levels of the organization: Effectively interface across all levels of the organization. Be comfortable interacting with all levels both internally and at customers or vendors.
- Strong experience in Product Strategy and Product Management to effectively develop and oversee product roadmaps.
- Excellent Analytical Skills to evaluate market trends, customer needs, and product performance.
- Proven Team Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Proficiency in Project Management, with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills to influence stakeholders and align goals across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience in the electric motors or manufacturing industry is a plus.
