The Senior Data Engineer at Group 1001 will play a critical role in advancing our data organization by leading data pipeline development and driving excellence in data warehouse design. This position requires deep technical expertise and the ability to mentor team members while delivering solutions that directly impact business outcomes in our insurance and annuity operations. This position requires 4-7 years of experience, working self‑directed on complex problems to deliver multi‑team impact.

- Lead the design and implementation of complex data pipelines that support critical business operations and analytics initiatives
- Architect scalable data solutions that handle growing volumes of insurance data while maintaining performance and reliability
- Establish data quality frameworks and validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of data across the organization
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on data engineering best practices, design patterns, and technical problem-solving
- Drive technical decisions on data architecture, tooling, and infrastructure to support evolving business needs
Technical
Skills:
Advanced in Python, SQL, RDS, Snowflake, ETL/ELT, Coalesce, Airflow/Dagster, Data warehousing, Stream processing, and Data quality frameworks
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 4-7 years of experience in data engineering or related field
- Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior team members
- Track record of designing and implementing scalable solutions that support business growth
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements and priorities
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Deep experience in the insurance or financial services industry with understanding of regulatory requirements
- Proven success with microservices migration and domain-driven design
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures
- Proven ability to drive technical decisions and influence architecture direction
- Strong mentorship skills with track record of developing junior team members

- Leadership skills with ability to guide and mentor junior and mid-level team members
- Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical excellence and business objectives
- Strong influence skills with ability to drive technical decisions and gain stakeholder buy‑in
