Position: Strategic Portfolio Manager Siemens SI B 80-100%

Overview

Transform the everyday with us. At Siemens, we create technology with purpose. In our Buildings business, we combine the real and digital worlds through software, services, and smart infrastructure solutions that help customers decarbonize, reduce operating costs, and deliver better experiences for the people who use their buildings every day. Join a global team that is shaping the future of buildings and creating real impact for customers, communities, and the planet.

Your

Mission

In this role, you will help define how the Smart Infrastructure Buildings portfolio evolves for the future. You will work at the intersection of strategy, technology, and business impact—partnering with senior leaders to set priorities, guide investment decisions, and strengthen the portfolio in line with customer needs and market opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, influencing across a global organization, and shaping meaningful change in a highly visible environment.

Your

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Portfolio Leadership
    • Shape and align the portfolio strategy across businesses, translating vision into clear priorities, investment choices, and execution roadmaps
    • Translate strategic vision into actionable roadmaps with explicit trade-offs: where to invest, where to deprioritize, where to standardize, and where to differentiate
    • Drive cross-functional alignment, portfolio integration, and strategic support for M&A and transformation initiatives
  • Capital Allocation & Investment Governance
    • Lead investment governance by allocating resources to the highest-value opportunities and ensuring disciplined decision-making
    • Challenge, refine, and evaluate investments using strategic, financial, customer, and risk-based criteria
  • Performance Management & Data-Driven Decision-Making
    • Provide transparency on portfolio performance, investment returns, and resource utilization to enable better decisions
    • Use data and insights to drive optimization, manage risks, and improve portfolio outcomes
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
    • Lead decision-oriented portfolio reviews with business and divisional leaders to create alignment on priorities, trade-offs, and next steps
    • Drive early alignment with go-to-market functions such as Marketing, Sales, and Vertical teams so portfolio priorities reflect customer needs, and the right work is advanced across the portfolio to deliver stronger outcomes
    • Build trust, influence stakeholders, and foster collaboration to ensure customer-focused priorities are executed effectively
What Makes You Successful In This Role
  • Strategic perspective - You can turn broad ambition into a clear portfolio direction, make thoughtful trade-offs, and continuously optimize the portfolio to focus on what matters most
  • Strong business and financial judgment - You understand how to evaluate investments, balance short-term returns with long-term value, and use data to support decisions
  • Customer and market focus - You keep customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive relevance at the centre of portfolio choices
  • Influence in a global organization - You build trust, align stakeholders, and move decisions forward without relying on formal authority
  • Execution with clarity - You simplify complexity, communicate clearly to senior leaders, and turn strategy into action without getting lost in analysis
Your Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar field
  • 10+ years of experience in product and portfolio management, ideally in management positions or senior individual contributor roles with strategic influence
  • Deep knowledge of the building and infrastructure technology industry
  • Proven track record in customer-centric portfolio development and achieving product-market fit
  • Strong understanding of technology trends, architectures, and development life cycles
  • Expertise in financials and KPIs in portfolio management and R&D
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus through influence in global organizations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior management and executive interaction
Preferred
  • Experience working with global teams and international exposure
  • Experience with M&A and divestment activities
  • Background in strategic consulting or corporate strategy
  • Track record in influential individual contributor roles driving strategic outcomes

If you are energized by shaping strategy, influencing decisions, and helping build a portfolio that creates long-term customer and business value, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible difference within Siemens.

Employee Benefits
  • 2-3 days per week of mobile working is standard
  • Mobility allowance
  • Varied further training opportunities
  • Access to employee share programs
