Our client, a leading global financial markets firm, is seeking an experienced Crypto Compliance professional to lead and develop the compliance framework for its digital assets business.

About the Role

This is a strategic role for a senior compliance professional with strong digital asset regulatory expertise and experience building scalable compliance frameworks in evolving regulatory environments. The successful candidate will act as the primary compliance partner to the digital assets business, advising on expansion initiatives, regulatory strategy, product development, and governance across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities Compliance Framework & Governance
  • Design, implement, and maintain the compliance framework for the firm’s digital assets business
  • Oversee compliance arrangements across market conduct, surveillance, licensing, and regulatory obligations relating to digital asset activities
  • Draft and maintain policies, procedures, and controls tailored to digital asset operations
  • Establish governance and escalation frameworks, including senior management reporting processes
  • Manage audit and remediation programmes, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues
  • Build and manage a scalable compliance team supporting digital asset activities
Strategic Advisory & Business Partnership
  • Serve as lead compliance advisor to the digital assets business on strategic initiatives, new products, and expansion plans
  • Provide pragmatic advice on regulatory, licensing, and market conduct considerations
  • Partner closely with business leadership to support growth while maintaining strong risk management standards
  • Work cross-functionally with international compliance, AML, and legal teams to ensure alignment
Regulatory Engagement
  • Support interactions with regulators, exchanges, and external stakeholders across relevant jurisdictions
  • Manage regulatory reviews, examinations, and licensing processes
  • Monitor evolving digital asset regulation and advise the business on regulatory developments
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of compliance experience within financial services
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior compliance role covering digital assets, crypto, fintech, or emerging financial products
  • Demonstrated experience building or enhancing compliance frameworks within regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of digital asset compliance considerations, including AML, transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, and travel rule implementation
  • Experience managing regulatory relationships and examinations
  • International regulatory exposure across multiple jurisdictions is advantageous
  • ACAMS or similar professional qualification preferred
