Company Overview

Dialectic, a crypto-native organization of builders and capital advisors, is seeking a full‑time Finance Intern – Accounting & Controls with a strong interest in digital assets. This role offers the opportunity to join a fast‑growing team focused on investing in and building software for emerging crypto and blockchain technologies. As the investment advisor to several offshore funds serving global investors, Dialectic values experience or interest in offshore fund accounting, reporting, and related financial disciplines.

Job Summary

The perfect candidate will assist with reporting, audit and accounting, tax, and financial oversight for our group of entities. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, the ability to work independently, and a readiness to own the process to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows to automate repetitive financial operations, reporting, reconciliation, research, and internal processes to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the finance team.
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close – accruals, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements and reports under Swiss law and IFRS.
  • Support Swiss tax filing preparation (VAT, withholding tax) and audit fieldwork, including PBC schedules and responses to external auditor queries.
  • Document financial processes, workflows, and SOPs; support the review, standardization, and design of internal controls as the group scales, and flag exceptions, variances, and process gaps.
  • Support monthly NAV closings with portfolio managers and fund administrators – gathering, structuring, and analysing on‑chain data; reviewing NAV packs; and preparing reporting materials for stakeholders including regulatory bodies, investors, and internal management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring – gathering data, preparing analyses and variance reviews, and contributing research and preliminary insights to support decision‑making by the finance team and senior leadership.
Key Requirements
  • Demonstrated fluency with modern AI tools and workflows, including the ability to effectively leverage platforms such as Claude, Claude Code, Codex, and related AI‑assisted productivity, research, and automation tools in day‑to‑day work.
  • Relevant experience in accounting, audit or finance – internship and early‑career roles included.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles; exposure to Swiss law (Swiss Code of Obligations) and/or IFRS.
  • Comfortable with MS Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organise and document work clearly.
  • Demonstrated integrity, humility, intellectual curiosity, and openness to learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to take initiative under guidance.
  • Fluent in English;
    German is a plus.
Nice‑to‑haves
  • Interest and exposure to DeFi, crypto markets, digital assets, or blockchain projects through personal projects or coursework is a plus.
  • Some understanding and experience with typical hedge fund terms and documents, including offering memoranda, portfolio supplements, and subscription agreements.
  • Familiarity with offshore fund structures (e.g., Cayman, BVI).
  • Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., Swiss Fachausweis Finanz‑und Rechnungswesen, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of accounting principles; familiarity with IFRS or Swiss law is a plus.
