Anti- Laundering Officer Crypto

We are seeking an experienced AML Officer to support AML/KYC activities relating to our crypto counter parties and digital asset business. The role sits within a fast-moving trading environment and requires a pragmatic, risk-based approach combined with strong independent judgement.

The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of AML/CTF risks specific to crypto markets — including complex ownership structures, high-risk counter parties, sanctions exposure and EDD requirements — and will be comfortable operating across both analytical and stakeholder-facing work streams.

• Conduct adverse media and sanctions screening using relevant tools, and assess AML/CTF and sanctions-related red flags across crypto counter parties and digital asset activities
• Review wallet-related information and blockchain intelligence outputs where applicable
• Provide subject matter expertise on onboarding and counter party risk matters

• Perform CDD and periodic reviews for crypto counter parties, including EDD where required
• Analyse complex ownership and control structures, including offshore and layered arrangements
• Conduct independent AML/KYC risk assessments and determine appropriate risk classifications
• Prepare escalation memos and high-risk cases for senior stakeholder approval
• Manage escalations relating to high-risk counter parties and onboarding matters

• Engage directly with counter parties on AML/KYC requirements and documentation
• Collaborate with Trading, Legal, Compliance and operational teams on onboarding and risk matters
• Deliver practical AML guidance to internal stakeholders on crypto-related risks and controls

• Draft and maintain AML/CTF policies, procedures and guidance materials
• Support AML/KYC control improvements and enhancement initiatives
• Assist with internal audits, regulatory reviews and remediation activity
• Stay current on AML/CTF regulatory developments, sanctions frameworks and digital asset industry expectations
• Timely, accurate CDD analyses and periodic counter party reviews
• Well‑documented AML transaction monitoring
• Effective handling of counter party KYC requests and communications
• Risk-based analysis of adverse media and sanctions screening alerts
• Up‑to‑date compliance policies, procedures and documentation

• 4+ years of AML/KYC/CDD experience in crypto, trading, banking, payments or another regulated financial institution
• Strong understanding of EDD requirements and risk‑based AML/KYC assessments
• Experience conducting independent risk assessments and exercising sound judgement on complex matters
• Knowledge of relevant AML/CTF legislation and sanctions frameworks
• Experience with complex legal entity structures and institutional counter parties
• Familiarity with crypto transaction tracing and wallet screening tools preferred
• Prior exposure to AML/CTF risks and typologies in digital assets preferred but not required
• CAMS certification preferred; crypto‑specific AML certifications a plus
• Strong analytical and investigative mindset with high attention to detail
• Confident communicator with experience engaging counter parties and senior stakeholders directly
• High degree of ownership and accountability
• Comfortable in fast‑paced, evolving regulatory environments
