Associate Director - Procurement - Switzerland

My client, a global FMCG leader with a world‑renowned brand portfolio, is recruiting a Director Group Procurement – Metals.

With the flexibility to be based in Switzerland you will take global accountability for one of the most critical and high‑spend categories within the Group.

As Director Group Procurement – Metals, you will lead the development and execution of 3‑year global sourcing strategies for the aluminium can category.

You will act as the global Subject Matter Expert, driving bottom‑line savings, leading complex international negotiations, and managing a matrixed regional category team across Europe and Asia.

A key focus of the role will be driving the sustainability agenda and reducing the carbon footprint across the category.

We are looking for a high‑calibre candidate with the following skillset and experience:

• Educated to Master’s degree level (or equivalent) in a Technical or Business field.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategic and tactical procurement at a regional or global level.
• Deep industry expertise in packaging, specifically within Metal Packaging for the FMCG sector.
• Proven leadership ability in a matrix environment, with the skill to influence and lead without a solid reporting line.
• Expert negotiator with experience in high‑value, international contracts and an understanding of financial instruments/hedging.
• Sustainability champion with a track record of implementing green initiatives within a global supply chain.
• Fluent English is essential; additional languages are a distinct advantage.
