Burger King is creating a senior leadership role to bring together Brand Marketing, Communications, Media & Innovation. The Sr. Director of Marketing, Burger King, EMEA will be the strategic and creative leader responsible for elevating Burger King's brand expression across the region. This leader partners closely with Burger King’s franchisee CMOs across EMEA, International brand teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive a consistent, modern, culturally relevant brand agenda with particular emphasis on great tasting food, social‑first storytelling, and integrated communication planning.
You will oversee a cross‑functional team spanning Innovation, Communications, Partnerships, Social & Media, ensuring these functions work as a unified engine that accelerates our brand’s growth across all channels and countries within the EMEA region. The role is located in Zug, Switzerland and requires 5 days per week office presence. Additionally, you might be required to travel frequently within the region.
Roles & Responsibilities EMEA Brand Strategy & Accelerated Brand Agenda
- Shape and champion a cohesive, forward‑looking EMEA brand strategy that provides clarity, consistency, and ambition for the region.
- Translate the global brand positioning into practical, inspiring frameworks for markets to deploy in their local context & calendars.
- Partner with franchisee CMOs to refine market‑level priorities and ensure countries have the tools, assets, and direction needed to scale impactful work.
- Serve as the senior brand advisor to markets, fueling momentum behind their communication and innovation plans.
- Set the standard for breakthrough creative work across EMEA, elevating the craft, clarity, and cultural resonance of everything we produce.
- Lead the development of campaign playbooks, creative toolkits, and brand assets that ensure consistency across countries while embracing local creative expression.
- Partner with markets through creative brief development, pitch processes, idea qualification, and agency partnership best practices.
- Ensure all communication materials align with brand voice, visual identity, and strategic direction, while inspiring work that makes the brand more distinctive and culturally influential.
- Oversee the regional innovation agenda, ensuring strong integration with brand strategy, assortment & portfolio plan and comms.
- Build a pipeline that balances core innovation, renovation, brand‑building limited‑time offers, and breakthrough ideas aligned with cultural and consumer trends from quantified opportunities.
- Ensure innovation work streams are tightly connected with key markets to prove case and rollout region wide.
- Strengthen brand by ensuring great tasting food building our unique attributes & tapping into incremental segments, true to BK’s DNA.
