Junior Market Analyst
Role OverviewThe Market Analyst is responsible for the collection, processing, maintenance, reporting and analysis of BI data in Holcim Trading.
This role is a 10 months fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities- Data Management
- Read, screen, analyze raw data coming from various sources on a day to day basis, either quantitative data or qualitative
- Conduct relevant research using various sources, from electronic database, websites, and other published sources, using sophisticated search engines, query tools, and other web technologies
- Set up/maintain/improve our commodities databases, statistics and related news
- Improve and digitize data collection, processing and management processes
- Support the implementation of new digital data management and reporting tools
- Reporting and Analysis
- Regular and proactive communication with trading teams in order to validate and exchange information
- Visualize data (Powerpoint, Excel, Looker, Power BI, other visualization tools), and create relevant reports on countries / competitors / other relevant topics
- Prepare market reports, analysis, or dashboards to support the trading teams on their strategic initiatives
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in data analytics, market analysis, strategy, or similar area
- Previous experience in corporate environment
- Previous experience in seaborne logistics, data warehouse, trading or shipping market analysis will be a definite plus
- A strong mastery of Excel (Pivot table, Power Query, Macros, ...). Mastery of Power Point
- Familiar with business analytics tools (i.e. Looker Studio, Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong attention to details
- Strong analytical and synthetic skills, ability to critical thinking
- Ability to synthesize information and data into polished presentations
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage priorities independently while maintaining a strong collaborative spirit
- Mindset to challenge the status quo, improvement mindset
- Capacity to work cross cultural borders where stakeholders reside in multi locations, at different level within the organization
- Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Data Analytics, or similar field
- Experience with database tools and other applications for statistical analysis is a plus
- Excellent English, written and spoken
- Other languages is a plus
