The team you’ll join

Step Stone Private Debt (SPD) is a global private debt investor with over $71B in AUM/AUA including $12B based on the latest Q2 firm figures. SPD covers the breadth of the private debt market and constructs bespoke portfolios on a primary, secondary and co-investment basis. SPD focuses on two areas of the market: performing and non-performing debt across the corporate, real estate, and infrastructure sectors.

SPD is a subsidiary of the Step Stone Group, a global private markets firm specializing in Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Credit and Real Estate.

About

The Role

Step Stone Private Debt is looking for a detailed-oriented individual who will directly support the Private Debt business development and product management activities. This Intern will interact and collaborate with senior professionals across various teams including research and investment, legal and compliance, monitoring and reporting, sales, among others, to present private debt’s service offerings and investment products to institutional investors and help fulfill client requests.

The person should have a solid understanding of investments and private markets, strong project management and writing skills. Understanding of business development and capital raising processes is also desired.

What You’ll Do
  • Support for client service tasks, with aim to improve efficiency through AI integration / automation
  • Support for customer-oriented analysis, reporting and monitoring activities
  • Support in the optimization and development of marketing documents
  • Other tasks to be determined
What We’re Looking For
  • Pursuing a Master's degree or recently obtained in quantitative finance or similar field
  • Must be able to work full-time hours for at least 6-months in our Zurich office and start this summer, preferably by the end of August 2026
  • Experience in AI integration, proficiency in large language models (e. g. Copilot) and prompt engineering is a plus
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast-changing environment, and working independently
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment
  • Strong cross-functional analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative. Ability to capture and formulate complex issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with complex excel files, PowerBI and PowerPoint presentations
  • Follow up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail are essential
  • Proficiency in English is a must (verbal and written)
