The university has numerous exhibition and performance venues where student projects are shown to the public.
The Zurich Dance Academy (taZ), the professional ballet school for classical dance in Switzerland, is located in the Department of Performing Arts and Film trains young national and international talents to become professional stage dancers as part of its foundation and advanced study programmes. The Academy is looking for a new teacher for these programmes as of 1 August 2026.
Your tasksYou will teach classical dance for men and pas de deux for all; you will also be involved in the organisation of the school’s daily activities, particularly the preparation and execution of performances. Your responsibilities will include rehearsing classical and contemporary repertoire. It is desirable that you have the skills to teach/rehearse in the BA and MA Dance Programmes.
Your profileYou have completed professional training in ballet pedagogy or possess an equivalent qualification and have many years of personal experience as a professional ballet dancer. You have several years of teaching experience working with students of all levels in professional education. You know how to motivate and inspire students with your specialised knowledge, are familiar with class management, and possess the associated skills.
Excellent language skills in English and German are required.
