I’m currently working with a well-established firm in Zurich that is expanding its market risk function and is looking to bring on an experienced Market Risk Manager with strong exposure to gas and power markets
.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to sit close to the business, take ownership of core risk metrics, and play a key role in shaping risk oversight within a dynamic energy trading environment.

As Market Risk Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing market risk across gas and power portfolios, ensuring robust risk measurement, reporting, and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ownership and production of VaR, stress testing, and sensitivity reports
• Daily monitoring and analysis of gas and power trading positions
• Development, validation, and enhancement of risk models and methodologies
• Preparation of clear risk reports for senior management and stakeholders
• Close collaboration with trading, front office, and senior risk leadership
• Supporting limit frameworks, breaches, and escalation processes
• Contribution to ongoing improvements in risk systems and controls

• Strong experience in market risk
  , ideally within energy trading
• Solid understanding of gas and power markets
• Hands-on experience with VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis
• Ability to communicate risk clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, trading-driven environment
• Experience working in or with European energy markets is a strong plus

• Strategic market risk role with real visibility and influence
