Are you a credit risk professional looking to take your career to the next level in one of the most dynamic and specialized areas of the reinsurance industry? At Swiss Re, we combine deep expertise with a global perspective — and we're looking for a curious, analytically driven individual who is ready to own underwriting decisions and help us grow our Credit & Surety Reinsurance portfolio across Europe.

If you thrive on complex risk assessment, taking accountability for your decisions, building meaningful client relationships, and shaping business strategy, this could be the role for you.

About the Role

Whether your background is in Credit & Surety (re) insurance, credit risk management, trade finance, corporate banking, or a related financial discipline, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and underwrite treaty and facultative reinsurance opportunities, evaluating risk profile, exposure, profitability and portfolio impact through robust analysis and sound underwriting judgement
  • Own and be accountable for underwriting recommendations and decisions, exercising independent judgement, standing behind your assessments, and ensuring decisions are in line with Swiss Re's risk appetite, governance framework and strategic objectives
  • Negotiate reinsurance terms and conditions with clients and brokers, ensuring commercially sound and mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Build and develop strong client relationships with insurance companies, brokers and other market participants across Europe, actively contributing to the identification of new business opportunities
  • Monitor market developments, emerging risks and portfolio performance to inform underwriting decisions and support sustainable business growth
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Client Markets, Credit Risk Management, Claims, Contracts, Business Services and Finance, ensuring seamless end-to-end execution
