Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Finance and Operations Specialist (60%–100%)
Location: Zürich

At Cerrion, we’re building the future of AI-enabled manufacturing. Headquartered in Zurich and backed by Y Combinator and top Silicon Valley investors, we deploy video AI Agents that see what’s happening on production floors, spot problems automatically, and intervene in real time to keep production running smoothly, at global scale. Our technology is live in factories across 15+ countries, helping leading manufacturers in glass, beverage, food, CPG, building materials, and wood cut downtime by up to 50%.

After successfully closing our Series A in November 2025, we’re at an inflection point and scaling fast.

We’re hiring a Finance and Operations Specialist to own and run our core financial and operational processes – and to actively shape how they evolve as we scale. You’ll manage everything from accounts payable and invoicing to vendor management and cost tracking, be the go-to person for day-to-day financial queries, and gain deep exposure to financial closing. But this role goes beyond execution: you’ll have the mandate and the space to question how things work, design processes, and help building the operational foundation for our company.

Working directly with our Finance Lead, you’ll see the full picture of how a high-growth company operates – and have a direct hand in building it. You’ll use AI tools as a daily lever – to automate repetitive workflows, speed up analysis, and continuously push for smarter ways of running finance and operations.

If you’ve spent 2–3 years in finance or operations – at a startup or fast-moving company – and you’re looking for a role where you own outcomes, not just tasks, this is it.

  • Own invoicing end-to-end: Prepare, send, and track customer invoices. You’ll make sure every invoice is accurate, on time, and properly recorded.
  • Run accounts payable and receivable: Process incoming invoices, manage payment timelines, and follow up on outstanding receivables to keep cash flow healthy.
  • Manage employee expenses: Review and process expense reports, ensure compliance with our expense policy, and keep the reimbursement cycle fast and friction-free.
  • Own bookkeeping and financial records: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain structured documentation of transactions, contracts, and receipts – keeping our books clean, audit-ready, and built for scale.
  • Manage vendor operations and cost tracking: Own vendor relationships, track costs across the business, and ensure we have full visibility into where money is going – so we can make smarter spending decisions as we scale.
  • Support HR operations: Assist with the operational side of people processes – from onboarding and offboarding to contract management and employee documentation – ensuring nothing falls through the cracks as the team grows.
  • Automate and streamline with AI: Systematically identify manual, repetitive processes across finance and operations and build smarter workflows using LLMs and AI tools – from automated invoice processing to intelligent data extraction and reporting.
  • 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations – at a startup, scale-up, or other fast-paced environment where you wore multiple hats.
  • Solid accounting fundamentals and hands‑on experience with bookkeeping, AP/AR, and financial closing processes.
  • Data‑driven and detail‑oriented: You don’t just book numbers – you want to understand what they mean. You’re comfortable spotting patterns, asking “why does this look off?”, and you take pride in getting the numbers right.
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and genuinely AI‑native – comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and structured data. You don't just use AI tools occasionally – you integrate them into your daily work to automate tasks, extract insights, and move faster.
  • Ownership mindset: You don’t wait to be told what to do. When you see something that’s broken or could be better, you flag it and fix it.
  • Fluent in German and English – German for day‑to‑day communication with local partners and authorities, English as our company language and for all financial documentation.

Ownership & impact – own real financial processes, see your impact every week

Growth path – clear route to a full‑time role after graduation

Compensation – competitive salary at a YC‑backed company

If you’ve built your skills in a fast-moving environment and want to own finance and operations at a company that’s scaling AI across the world’s biggest factories – we’d love to meet you.
