Junior Sanction Advisory; f​/m​/d

Julius Baer seeks a Global Sanctions Compliance Officer to support the firm’s worldwide sanctions compliance programme. The role will work closely with internal functions and local compliance units across all group affiliates, counter parties, authorities and peers to ensure adherence to sanctions laws and regulations.

• Define and handle clients with sanctions nexus and conduct materiality assessment to determine risk decisions.
• Assess and manage all aspects of sanctioned parties (SDN) in relation to the bank.
• Act as a centre of competence, supporting the team with daily tasks and best‑practice execution.
• Apply sanctions laws and regulations, relevant programmes, and implement specific measures at the Head Office and throughout the Julius Bär Group.
• Advise colleagues on the Global Sanctions Policy and monitor legal and regulatory developments.
• Exchange knowledge with local compliance units across Group affiliates to ensure consistent policy decisions, controls and material developments.
• Interact with counter parties, authorities and peers within the financial sector’s network.

• University degree (Bachelor or Master), preferably in Economics, Law, Audit or Finance, or equivalent banking apprenticeship with further education.
• 3–5 years of professional experience, ideally in Compliance, Risk, Audit or Law, with specialised knowledge in sanctions.
• Strong willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and to learn.
• Team player who delivers practical solutions, works independently, efficiently, reliably and maintains high quality.
• Excellent organisational, operational, analytical and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Sound judgement, integrity and discretion in decision making.
• Fluent written and spoken English;
  German proficiency would be beneficial. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
