YOUR CHALLENGE

Global responsibility for assigned custodian and cash correspondent relationships. This includes managing all aspects of relationships, ensuring best‑in‑class service provision, and developing the network to meet evolving needs.

• Active service management of Agent Bank relationships – conducting regular service meetings, reviews, due diligences, monitoring and managing service provision to Bank Julius Baer.
• Negotiation and management of fees, ensuring understanding of costs, evolution, and generating and implementing cost‑optimisation ideas.
• Oversight of contracts and implementation of necessary documentation.
• Collaboration with stakeholders to identify and deliver on continuous front‑to‑back process optimisation across the network.
• Understanding of market and agent developments, trends, and opportunities, and dissemination of insights to stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of custody rules and ability to apply knowledge to support internal advisory/consultancy for business and client needs.
• Develop deep custody and payments expertise, providing guidance to client‑facing units on local account opening requirements, market custodial rules, and service issues.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with all key internal stakeholders related to custody and cash correspondent service (Operations, Trading, Global Custody, Private Banking Front Office, Compliance, etc).
• Respond promptly and effectively to any market‑specific queries and escalations from Business, Operations, or other colleagues.
• Support colleagues with markets and tasks as and when required.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives within Bank Julius Baer as required.
• Undertake necessary steps with internal and external colleagues to remediate identified issues and ensure market compliance.
• Contribute to a culture of openness, enthusiasm, and curiosity within the team and the firm.

• Relevant experience in Network Management, Financial Institutions, Relationship Management or client‑facing role in banking – preferred.
• Demonstrated track record managing vendors and internal stakeholders, ideally related to custodian and cash correspondent.
• General knowledge of custody operations, market rules, cash operations, and correspondent services.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities under pressure, structured working style.
• Ability to identify root causes of issues and required remediation under pressure.
• Proactive, self‑motivated mindset and willingness to take responsibility.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills to resolve or guide resolution of service issues.
• Willingness to understand the mechanics of processes and continue to develop expertise.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage external and internal relationships and represent Bank Julius Baer, influencing and leading negotiations.
• Strong team player, able to multi‑task in a dynamic business environment.
• Excellent data analysis and presentation skills are essential; an aptitude for technology is an added advantage.
• Good MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills essential; an aptitude for technology is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken) essential; additional languages a plus.
