Head of Finance – Automotive

Overview

Our client is an international automotive company experiencing strong growth across global markets.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Finance.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for a finance professional who combines strong financial expertise with the ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

The successful candidate will act as a key business partner to management, ensuring financial excellence, operational efficiency, and robust financial governance. At the same time, they will play a pivotal role in building and developing the local finance function and team.

• Lead and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local and international standards.
• Act as a strategic business partner to senior management, providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Drive financial performance, profitability analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Establish, develop, and scale a high-performing finance team aligned with the company's growth ambitions.
• Implement and continuously improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
• Ensure compliance with Swiss regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with international stakeholders and headquarters on financial planning and performance management.
• Support business growth initiatives, investments, and strategic projects.

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles, ideally within the automotive sector.
• Strong understanding of the Swiss automotive market and its financial and operational dynamics.
• Proven experience in financial planning, controlling, reporting, and business partnering.
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop finance teams in growing organizations.
• Hands-on mentality with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
• Strong analytical skills, commercial mindset, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent German and English are mandatory.
• Additional European languages would be considered an advantage.
