Lawyer

Zurich Insurance Company is looking for a Lawyer for a 12‑month fixed term contract. This role will provide professional and independent legal advice to Zurich’s business in Ireland. The position is mainly located in Blackrock, Dublin but working from other locations may also be required.

This role may be available part‑time or full time. Please discuss any required flexibility during the interview.

Provider of general commercial, financial services and regulatory advice; advisory on insurance and investment matters; drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts and supporting documentation; ensuring accurate advice in accordance with applicable laws and regulations; mitigating legal risk and assisting with commercial risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.

• Provide general commercial, financial services and/or regulatory advice
• Provide legal advice on insurance and investment matters
• Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on a variety of commercial contracts, products and supporting documentation
• Ensure that advice accurately reflects applicable laws, regulations and practice
• Mitigate legal risk and assist with commercial risk mitigation and regulatory compliance

• Extended Legal Team in Ireland
• Relevant business contacts and senior management
• “Service provider” relationship with business contacts that call on advice

• Brokers and customers as deemed necessary by the business

• Qualified lawyer – ideally 4–6 years post‑qualification experience in commercial or financial services
• Experience in insurance, investment and pensions financial services practice from an Irish legal and regulatory perspective is an advantage
• Practical understanding of financial services
• Ability to research legislation
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills with ability to adapt style to suit the audience
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Ability to take initiative in a fast‑moving environment
• Customer‑centric attitude
• Strong problem‑solving ability

Primary work location is Blackrock. The position is Dublin‑based but occasional travel to other Zurich locations may be required. This is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days in the office per week.
