Head of Sales & Marketing – Road Transport & Customs Services Company Overview
Our client is a recently established Swiss logistics company (joint venture), combining a strong national Swiss network with a major European road transport and logistics group. The focus lies on reliable, high-quality groupage (LTL), part-load and full-load (FTL) transport solutions across Europe, as well as professional customs services for cross-border traffic.
The company started operations in early 2025 and is developing steadily according to its business plan despite a challenging economic environment.
Position SummaryHead of Sales & Marketing
We are looking for an experienced sales leader to take full responsibility for the commercial development of the European and Swiss road transport activities as well as the customs business.
You will directly lead a sales team of 8 people (4 field sales representatives, 3 internal sales staff, 1 Tender Manager) and play a central role in shaping the commercial strategy and growth of the company during this important development phase.
Main responsibilities- Direct leadership, development and coaching of the sales team (field & internal)
- Further development and motivation of employees in the sales & marketing area
- Definition and consistent implementation of the sales strategy
- Active new customer acquisition (focus B2B industrial & wholesale clients)
- Management and strategic expansion of existing key accounts
- Maintenance and development of relationships with international partner companies
- Preparation of quotations, pricing and calculation foundations
- Support to the managing director / board in:
- Strategic development of the company
- Continuous market observation and adaptation to market changes
- Planning and execution of marketing activities
- Advanced training / professional qualifications in freight forwarding / transport / sales (e.g. Speditionsfachmann/-frau with federal diploma, Verkehrsfachmann/-frau, or equivalent sales/marketing oriented education) considered a strong plus
- Languages:
- English – very good, confident in negotiations
- Good knowledge of French and/or Italian is a significant advantage
- Professional experience: > 15 years in logistics / freight forwarding
- Deep practical knowledge of European and domestic road transport (especially groupage) and customs procedures
- Strong track record in B2B sales, preferably with industrial, manufacturing and wholesale customers
- Hands‑on mentality combined with strategic thinking and idea generation
- Strong communicator – open, direct and transparent
- Customer‑oriented with a natural feeling for client needs
- Process‑oriented and quality‑conscious
- High motivation, strong implementation strength and entrepreneurial mindset
- High willingness to travel (Switzerland + selected European partner countries)
One of our Swiss sites (flexible depending on candidate’s home location – presence expected at multiple locations)
