NURSING ASSISTANT (120 CLOCK HOURS)
This approved program meets the Florida Board of Nursing and the Florida Department of Education (CIE) mandatory requirements for teaching and training nursing assistants. It prepares individuals for employment as nursing assistants in healthcare facilities or home health agencies. NO HS DIPLOMA, GED, OR ADMISSION TESTING REQUIRED!!!
Admission requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older, if under 18 years of age, parent/guardian must sign enrollment contract
- Be able to read, write, and communicate English fluently
- Pass state required Level 2 background test (finger prints & photo) and drug screening (prior to Clinical)
- Possess a valid government issued photo ID and social security card
HOME HEALTH AIDE (75 CLOCK HOURS)This program is designed to teach students how to competently care for both geriatric and younger populations. The program prepares persons to work in long term care facilities, home health agencies, private homes, and other healthcare settings. This approved program meets the State of Florida’s mandatory requirements for training home health aides. NO HS DIPLOMA, GED, OR ADMISSION TESTING REQUIRED!!!
Admission requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older, if under 18 years of age, parent/guardian must sign enrollment contract.
- Be able to read, write, and communicate English fluently.
- Possess a valid government issued photo ID and social security card.
PRACTICAL NURSING (1350 CLOCK HOURS)
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Be able to read, write, and communicate English fluently.
- Possess high school diploma, general education diploma (GED), official transcript, or equivalent.
- Must be USA citizen or legal resident (valid gov’t issued ID and SS card).
- Complete physical examination by licensed MD, DO, PA, or ARNP (varies per Clinical site requirement).
- Proof of immunity must be submitted from official documentation only for Hepatitis B, Varicella (Chickenpox), Mumps, Rubella, and Rubella (Measles), and negative PPD or chest x-ray results. Hepatitis B vaccine is highly recommended, or you may sign declination form (varies per Clinical site requirement).
- ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills), this exam measures entry level skills and abilities of Nursing Program applicants. Test may be attempted up to three times and applicants must score at 55% or higher for admission. If students are unsuccessful in passing with a score of 55% or higher on three (3) attempts, they must wait one full calendar year. After one full calendar year, the student can re-test again for three attempts and if not successful with 55% or higher, the year off rotation with remediation begins again. There is a fee with Pearson Vue for each test. More information is available at www.atitesting.com.
- Students must be covered by student liability insurance following acceptance and throughout the program.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT (1300 CLOCK HOURS)
-Applicant must be at least 18 years or older, if not parent/guardian must sign enrollment agreement.
-High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or official transcript.
-Successfully complete a Level 2 background check (for clinical and certification exam)
-Completed physical examination by MD, PA, ARNP, or DO (varies per Clinical site requirement).
-Proof of professional liability insurance.
-Proof of immunity from MMR, Varicella Zoster and HBV (or signed HBV declination form).
-Negative PPD or Chest x-ray indicating “no evidence of communicable diseases” (varies per Clinical site requirement).
Med Tech Program:
This course is designed for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Home Health Aides (HHAs) to assist patients with self-administration of their medications.
