University of Alabama Department of Computer Science:
Located in Tuscaloosa AL, the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama provides summer computer camps for middle school and high school students. We welcome students from Alabama and throughout the United States, as well as international students from around the world.
We provide a week-long day (commuter) camp for middle school students, and two-week camps for high school students with both day and overnight options available. Our fun and educational summer tech camps cover a range of computer science topics such as game programming and robotics.
Directions from Montgomery:
- Travel from Montgomery Northwest on Highway 82 (State Road 6).
- Once you arrive in Tuscaloosa you will stay on Highway 82 into Tuscaloosa.
Directions from Birmingham & Huntsville:
- Travel from Birmingham on I-20/59 into Tuscaloosa.
- Exit at the McFarland Blvd Exit (Exit # 73).
- At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right onto Highway 82 (McFarland Blvd).
- Travel on Highway 82 into Tuscaloosa.
Directions from Mobile:
- Travel north from Moblie on US 43 to I-20/59 into Tuscaloosa.
- Exit at the McFarland Blvd Exit (Exit # 73).
- At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right onto Highway 82 (McFarland Blvd).
- Travel on Highway 82 into Tuscaloosa.
Airport Transportation to Campus:
Birmingham International Airport (BHM) is approximately 60 miles from our campus. Those campers arriving by air may choose a taxi or an airport shuttle service for transportation to campus. Several commercial options will be suggested to those students who need specific arrangements.
We are not responsible for the transportation to our campus, but we can help to coordinate among campers who may want to share a ride.
