I have mixed feelings about this program. I was doing the french masters, and I really appreciated the flexibility of the program, and their willingness to give me extensions when I needed it. Though on the other hand, this online language learning method is definitely not for everyone- the french curriculum is not very engaging and I found it pretty dull. The assignments aren’t very interesting. This could be because I’m an American coming from a different education system, but still I think the assignments could have been much more detailed as far as what is expected and the assignments could have been more engaging. My teacher answered my questions and everything, but it usually took a day for a response and for me it was challenging since I only had small windows of time to work on my homework. This program is also not for someone who needs more regular personalized support. If I had an unanswered question, I was stuck until the next day or if it was a weekend, I had to wait until Monday to get an answer to my question.

Make sure if you want to do this program that you have all the facts before going in and that you’re the kind of person who likes to learn online, cause if not you can’t get your money back.

Another thing that frustrated me is that a while back I had asked to switch from one of my classes to a different course (since I wanted to do the literature course at the end after having done the other ones first) and was told I could change courses by my teacher, and then the program director also said that was fine but that she would get back to me. 4 months go by without a response from the director so I essentially just don’t work on my masters for that long and extend the time that the overall program is going to take. I emailed her again a few months later and she finally answered and said I can’t change courses but that I would have to pay a couple hundred euro to reenroll in that course at the end. This was extremely frustrating since I was told I could switch the course i was in, and if I had known that she was going to charge me after not having responded to me, i would have just done it. The communication with the administration didn’t yet any better after that either - I reached out to the director a few weeks ago inquiring about my progress on my courses since moodle wasn’t syncing and keeping my progress up to date- and didn’t get a response, and then reached out another couple of weeks ago to tell them that I decided to withdrawal from the while program , and I haven’t heard anything back.. so that felt a little disrespectful, especially when I tried to be nice about it and explain all my reasoning while also thanking them for having worked with me until now. It sounds like this school works out for a lot of people but it didn’t for me.

It was an interesting experience. The two years I spent studying my Master of Arts in Tesol were exhausting. Hard-working administrators and facilitators. A good and rich program and a painstakingly selected courses. I learned a lot and I was able to advance my career successfully.
I recommend of course but I want to urge the University to get more accreditation to shut all the ugly hearted persons who posted nasty reviews here n there.

I interned at Horizons University about a year ago and found them to be hard working, dedicated to their mission of making higher education accessible to students no matter their economic or geographic circumstances, and possessed of a serious sense of fun. They are composed of a broad variety of faculty from all over the world and the University proved, in my time there, more capable of accommodating students with language and learning needs than most private and public colleges I have had experience with here in the States.

I studied in Paris and finished the MBA in International Management in 2008. Now I work in a large company and my diploma helped me to get this job. I hope I can study the DBA later online.

It was great to study online at Horizons as it is very flexible and affordable and professors are working professionals who gave me excellent ideas on how to start my business. I earned a DBA in International Management and the title Dr. has opened many doors. I highly recommend HU!
