Huntington School of Beauty Culture:
Located close to Huntington, Cabell County WV, Huntington School of Beauty Culture is a professional cosmetology school. We provide courses in Basic Cosmetology, Esthetics, Manicuring, and Hairstyling just off Route 60 E less than one hour west of Charleston.
Beauty / Cosmetology Career Training Programs:
Graduates of our programs are awarded a Certificate of Completion, and are eligible to take the state examination for licensure.
Basic Cosmetology Course:
- Total Duration: 1800 clock hours
- Full-time: 53 weeks (34 clock hours per week)
- Part-time: 72 weeks (25 clock hours per week)
The objective of our basic cosmetology course is to prepare students for their state examination. Upon completing this course, students will be able to practice correct sanitation and sterilization procedures and perform all phases of hairdressing.

Hairstyling Course:
- Total Duration: 1000 clock hours
- Full-time: 34 clock hours per week
- Part-time: 25 clock hours per week
In the Hairstyling Course, our licensed instructional staff teaches both theoretical and practical applications. Students also have the opportunity to work with the public in the school's clinic.

Esthetics Course:
- Total Duration: 600 clock hours
- 30 hours per week for 20 weeks
Esthetics graduates are be able to comprehend, analyze, and integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skill in order to be gainfully employed in a salon.
Skills taught include:
Manicuring & Nail Technology Course:
- Total Duration: 400 clock hours
- 40 hours per week for 10 weeks
The training provided in our manicure course encompasses all phases of manicuring and pedicuring, hand and arm massage, advanced nail techniques, safety, nail diseases and disorders, salon management, and state law.
