West Woods Christian Academy is a private Christian K-12 school located in Hampden, just north of New Haven in New Haven County, Connecticut. Early Childhood and Kindergarten:
Early Childhood and Kindergarten class at WWCA is an enjoyable learning experience for your child. We combine creative play with a sound educational program designed to build a firm foundation for a lifetime of learning.
The children memorize a Bible verse for each letter of the alphabet and learn catchy songs to help them remember consonant and vowel sounds. Students in Kindergarten enjoy field trips, Bible devotion time, physical education, music and arts & crafts projects. Parents are invited to sit in on a class or two.
Elementary School:
Elementary Grades 1-6 at WWCA are self-contained, traditional classrooms with an average teacher/student ratio of 15:1.
The learning and curriculum at each level is active, challenging, and fun. The curriculum offerings, which meet the educational objectives of the school and the requirements of the State of Connecticut include: math, social studies, science, music, art projects, physical education, with an emphasis on a strong phonetic approach to reading and language Arts.
Junior High School:
The Junior High at WWCA consists of seventh and eighth grades. Students attend different classes in the structure of a seven- period day. Each morning, students meet in homeroom for attendance and Opening. During Opening, students read a section of
Scripture together and receive a practical, challenging devotion from the Book of Proverbs. Weekly Chapel, daily Bible instruction, and Student prayer groups highlight each week.
Senior High School:
The Secondary School (grades 9-12) at WWCA offers a highly regarded and comprehensive program. The curriculum content provides strong preparation for those desiring to attend college. Key subjects include English, math, science, foreign languages, history, physical education and electives.
The small, 1:12, teacher/student ratio, allows students to take advantage of individual attention and encoura
ges them to excel.
The learning environment at WWCA allows students to feel accepted and cared for by their teachers. Students pray together in weekly prayer groups and are frequently seen and heard encouraging each other.

Established in 1964, Montessori School of Greater Hartford is an independent, Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) school located in West Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut offering toddler, primary, elementary, morning and afterschool care, recess and vacation programs.
