Located just 15 miles north of Portland in Yarmouth, Cumberland County, part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford Metropolitan Area in Maine, North Yarmouth Academy is an independent, college preparatory, coeducational day school serving students in grades five through twelve. We offer a college preparatory curriculum with advanced placment courses, college prep PSAT, SAT and ACT as well as an experiential education program to allow active participation in adventure-based learning, an extensive arts program, afternoon enrichment programs and summer camps.

Conveniently situated at the corner of Woodford and Nevens Street in Portland, Maine, Maplewood Montessori School is a small, authentic Montessori school serving children 3 to 6 years old. Our mission is to provide a peaceful, safe, and welcoming environment where children can begin the process of becoming life-long learners, responsible citizens and respectful, active members of a community.

Maplewood is a small, active community of teachers, parents and children who strongly value the philosophy and principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, who viewed children as avid learners seeking to connect with the real world through meaningful, purposeful work. Montessori believed that by providing an environment prepared to meet these needs during the early years, children are likely to more fully develop their academic, social, and spiritual selves.
Montessori Preschool Program for 3-6 year olds:

- Morning sessions run from 8:30 to 11:30, and are available Monday through Thursday; parents may choose to enroll children for three or four mornings a week.

- Our extended day program extends the day until 2:30, and is available Monday through Thursday. This program is intended for children who have had a year of experience in the classroom.
