Benedictine High School, Richmond:
Located in Richmond in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Benedictine High School is an independent Catholic military boys' high school for grades 9-12. We are Virginia’s only Catholic, military, boys’ school. As an Honor JROTC Unit of Distinction, qualified cadets may be nominated to national service academies as well as for ROTC scholarships. After completing their course of studies at Benedictine, our students move on to attend many high-caliber academic institutions of higher learning. We also are the nation's largest feeder school to Virginia Military Institute. Benedictine is proud to offer a traditional college preparatory secondary education with a variety of subjects, the arts and athetics. We also offer advanced placement courses.

The name Benedictine is synonymous with Catholic values, academic excellence, leadership, and service. As a Catholic school, we believe in exemplifying and conveying the basic tenets and values of the Faith. They should guide our conduct in everyday life.

As a military school, we are committed to developing skills in leadership, discipline, teamwork, and responsibility. We want our young men to grow intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. To that end we expect our students to participate in a broad range of co-curricular activities.

Academic Programs:
- Military High School programs for boys in grades 9-12.
- Cadet program with possibilty of nomination for national service academies or of receiving ROTC scholarship.
- College Preparatory curriculum with English, math, foreign languages, science, social studies, theology, technolgy and robotics, fine arts and athletics.
- College Preparation courses for PSAT, SAT and ACT.
- Advanced Placement courses.
- We also offer a Military Summer camp.

Cadets at Benedictine High School have a unique opportunity to not only learn the principles of leadership, but also to actually put them into practice. What is learned in the classroom on an intellectual level is then applied on the parade ground. Even at the Freshmen level there are opportunities to excel and take command.

As students progress through sophomore and junior years at Benedictine High Schoo, the responsibilities grow in proportion to each student's growing abilities, culminating in the senior year when they have the opportunity to command entire platoons, companies, or the whole battalion.

The Cadets of Benedictine High School participate in activities and events that go far beyond typical extracurricular activities. Each class makes a retreat each year, they partake in the special liturgical events at Mary Mother of the Church Abbey, they can attend the March for Life, they can participate in a variety of clubs, and are heavily involved in community service.

There are FTX's (Field Training eXercises) and summer camps sponsored by the military department. The military department also supports a rifle team and a Raider team. These are but a few of the opportunities a Cadet has at Benedictine, most of which are exclusively available at Benedictine.
