Northwest Christian Schools:
Northwest Christian Schools (NWCS) located in Spokane, Washington State is a private Christian school that provides Preschool - 12th grade and homeschool education on two campuses to approximately 775 students representing over 50 churches from the Spokane area. Staffed by a dedicated team of 125 men and women, NWCS seeks to prepare students in mind and in heart to reach their fullest potential in Jesus Christ.

The Northwest Christian School's Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten offers your child a setting in which to grow, to learn, and to develop spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. Committed Christian teachers provide numerous opportunities for growth and development. Fundamental skills are developed in pre-math, letters, phonics, colors, music, Bible, science, and social behavior. Special activities, field trips, and programs round out this educational, fun-filled curriculum.

Pre-Kindergarten classes are offered at our Central Campus. Parents may choose between a "2 days a week" or "3 days a week" schedule. Children must be four years old by September 1 of this year to attend Pre-Kindergarten. They must be able to take themselves to the restroom.

Kindergarten:
The Kindergarten Program at Northwest Christian Schools has an academic focus through age-appropriate themes and activities. Children experience academic learning within a rich program of activity, song, and Bible lessons. The fundamentals of reading readiness are taught through phonics. Most of our kindergartners read before the end of the school year. Mathematic concepts are also taught through well-planned activities in everyday contexts. Our kindergartners learn to count coins, identify patterns, make graphs, and can add and subtract by year's end. Our teachers emphasize Christian character in support of our parents and teachers. Our children learn to live and recite our discipline theme: "The happy way is to obey the first time...cheerfully!"

Full day and half day (A.M. or P.M.) classes are offered.

Elementary School (Grades 1- 6):
Our goal at the elementary school is to prepare students for middle school by building solid foundations in every subject. Our pupils work hard to achieve our high standard of academic excellence. Standardized tests are administered yearly, and results prove that our students are among the highest achievers in the nation.

Our rich elementary program educates the whole child. The curriculum utilizes the most effective materials and methods for each subject. Core areas include: Reading; Mathematics; English; Social Studies; Science; MImage of Private School in Spokane, WAusic; Art; Technology.

Middle School (Grades 7 - 8):
NWCS middle school offers a solid core of academic classes as well as a variety of electives. A flexible block schedule allows for enhanced teacher contact time and flexibility to balance direct instruction with an opportunity for expression and a hands-on learning approach. A variety of learning-styles instruction is used including SMART Board ™ Technology in every classroom, hands-on science in our fully-equipped lab, cooperative group learning, engaging activities and a variety of meaningful assessments for learning and service projects.

The core curriculum includes Math, Science, English, History, and Bible. All subjects are taught within a comprehensive biblical worldview. Electives include art, fitness/health, theatre, conversational French and Spanish, choir, outdoor education and computer application classes.

High School (Grades 9 - 12):
Our high school's curriculum stimulates and supports students to experience what they have learned by promoting connectedness between core academic disciplines. Our goal is to help our students develop as independent lifelong learners. Every course is taught with a Biblically integrated mindset. No academic discipline or subject can truly be separated from God's truth. Our instructors are state certified professionals in the areas of their expertise. They set an academically rigorous, yet loving tone, in the classroom. We strongly encourage application of the truth students are learning into their everyday lives.

Core subjects include: Bible; English; Fine Arts; Health; Mathematics; Occupational; Physical Education; Science; Social Studies. A selection of electives are also available.
