Italian Language Courses for Adults
Day, evening & weekend classes available
Basic Italian classes (taught at 3 levels)
In the first level you will learn:
- Grammar: present tense of regular verbs, articles, nouns, possessive adjectives, and prepositions.
- Communication: greetings and introducing oneself, and asking for basic information.
In the second level you will learn:
- Grammar: present tense of some irregular verbs and past tense, and adjectives.
- Communication: describing oneself, talking about likes and dislikes, asking and giving information, using the past tense, and talking about past events.
In the third level you will learn:
- Grammar: reflexive and modal verbs, past imperfetto tense, formal and informal commands, direct objects, and demonstrative adjectives.
- Communication: talking about ongoing actions and habits in the past, asking and answering questions about food, restaurants, and talking about weather.
Intermediate Italian classes (taught at 2 levels)
In the first level you will learn:
- Grammar: imperfetto vs passato prossimo, indirect objects, future tense, trapassato tense, ci adverb and ne pronoun.
- Communication: talking about the environment, cinema, sport, free time, and asking for information.
In the second level you will learn:
- Grammar: conditional tense, double object pronouns, che and cui pronouns, subjunctive present of regular and irregular verbs, and comparative and superlative adjectives.
- Communication: talking about politics and social and multicultural problems.
Advanced Italian classes (taught at 2 levels)
You will review the grammar learned in previous classes and be exposed to more sophisticated constructions. Discussion of texts including literary works and magazine and newspaper articles will follow.
- Basic Italian for travelers
Total hours: 20 hours / Length of lessons: 2 hours
Do you dream of travelling to Italy and being able to communicate with the locals? In this evening class, you will learn some practical Italian language skills that will allow you to carry on basic conversations at hotels, restaurants, train stations etc. You do not need any prior knowledge of Italian.
