Study Abroad:
50 percent of HWS students study abroad in one of 28 countries. The mission of the Center for Global Education is to provide students with academically challenging study abroad experiences that foster an in-depth understanding of another culture, with the aim of encouraging them to embrace the concept of global citizenship. Being a responsible, effective citizen of the world involves assuming an active role in one's own community and in the larger world; it requires an understanding of the relationship between actions made locally and globally and a commitment to the betterment of people's lives everywhere. Through our study abroad programs, the Center for Global Education strives to provide students with a transformative learning experience that inspires them to live lives of consequence.

Emergency Care Programs is the largest prehospital emergency medical training company in New York City. Established in the early 1980s, we provide effective and practical Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and paramedic training classes to students living in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, NYC and the entire tri-state area. Our programs have trained well over 20,000 people in emergency medical services & techniques. You can attend classes at our training centers throughout Brooklyn, The Bronx and Manhattan, or we can offer courses on-site at your location. All Emergency Care Programs instructors are EMTs or paramedics with years of real street experience.
