Aditya Jyot Institute of Optometry was established in year 2003. It aims at preparing a cadre of well-qualified optometrists trained to provide primary eye care services to the society as well as to the optical industry opening vistas of opportunity for each student, to pursue a career of choice like academics, research and development in optical and ophthalmic field, working in ophthalmic hospitals or practicing independently.

Optometry Courses:

- Bachelor Degree in Optometry - B.Sc. Optom.:
The course will lead to a basic degree in optometry, which is considered as the minimum essential for statutory registration of optometrists in countries where Optometry has been brought under legislation.

Duration of the course: 4 years comprising of 3 academic years of study (6 semesters) and 1 year of clinical experience / internship for XII Science Students.

The Institute endeavors to upgrade the curriculum and continually improve the process to provide optometric education on par with the international standards. The Institute aims to achieve this by having a team of qualified and committed faculty in all relevant subjects of optometry, ophthalmology and basic sciences, continually updating their knowledge to meet the curriculum requirements, evaluating the students on internationally accepted examination standards and having the requisite facilities.

Short-term Comprehensive Fellowship Programs:
1 Year short-term comprehensive fellowship program is also available in clinical diagnostics to the 3-year diploma holder or 4-year degree holder in Optometry from a reputed institution in order to improvise on the clinical skills.
