Medical Coding and Billing Certificate Program:
- Duration: 6 semesters

The Medical Coding and Billing Certificate of Proficiency provides students with the skills necessary to function as Physician-Based Coders, Hospital Coders, or Medical Claims Reviewers. 

A Certificate of Proficiency in Medical Coding and Billing will be awarded upon completion of this curriculum with a 2.0 GPA 0 and a "C" OR better in the relevant courses. These include:

- Medical Terminology
- Body Structure/Function 
- Introduction to Health Care 
- Introduction to ICD-9-CM Coding Principles 
- Introduction to CPT-4 Coding 
- Fundamentals of Health Information Technology Science

Medical Coding and Billing Associate Degree Program:
- Duration: 5 semesters

Located in Central Altoona, in Blair County PA, Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center offers a full and part-time Practical Nursing Program that prepares graduates for employment as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in a wide variety of health-care settings. The full-time program is a comprehensive, one year healthcare educational program, and students can also opt for the two-year part-time program. As well as delivering quality training, we also collaborate with Blair County Career Link in assisting with placement of individuals upon graduation.

The Practical Nursing Program has continued to receive full approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing since its inception in 1962. Nursing, an art and a science, is concerned with the welfare of people and health service to the community. Practical Nursing is an integral part of the nursing profession.
