VPC believes that real-life industry experience is a vital part of a hospitality education. Each student will have the opportunity to apply for a practicum (unpaid work placement), or a co-op (paid internship) component.

The practicum session will be completed simultaneously while the student is in school, whereas with the co-op option, the student must take a semester off so that he/she is able to work full-time. These options allow students to put what they are learning in classes into real-life practice and, upon completing the practicum or co-op, students are often hired by the same company.
