The Spanish Institute of Mérida is a well established Spanish Language School with a proven methodology and a great atmosphere for learning Spanish in the beautiful colonial city of Merida, in the northwest of the state of Yucatán, Mexico. Live in with a local host family and become fluent in just weeks. We offer individual or group immersion programs. You will live the Spanish language and culture up to 16 hours a day. Our goal is to help you communicate in Spanish. There are four areas of communication: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In our program we consider all four areas.
Our standard Spanish program has eight levels: Beginner, Beginner/Intermediate, Low Intermediate, Intermediate, High Intermediate, Advanced, Superior and Distinguished. Upon arrival you will be given a placement exam to ensure you and the other classmates are placed in the right level. You can always take our Sample Placement Exam (The result of this exam is approximate) to give you and idea which level you may be placed in.
3 weeks is the ideal time to complete one of our eight levels. Our courses are intensive 6-hours a day. Four of which are in a class and two are spent with a conversation tutor in real-life experiences.
Home Stay Accommodation:
Our home stay program is a very important part of your overall language experience. You will stay with a local Mexican host-family, unless you request differently in which case we will work with you to find adequate hotel accommodations.
Our selection process assures that all our students will have a comfortable and pleasant stay in Merida. Our host-families are carefully screened to have a very helpful attitude towards students. We have also selected homes that offer a level of comfort not too far from what you are used to finding in your home country.
In contrast with many other programs, we only place one student per host family, making sure that you will only speak Spanish. Also all our students get private room and private bathroom at no extra cost.

The Language Immersion School offers Spanish immersion programs in Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. We are an American owned and operated school. Experienceia: Centro De Intercambio Bilingue Y Cultural Spanish Immersion Language School - Our program emphasizes a balance of structured language learning and in vivo conversational language acquisition including an extensive evening program available to all students at no extra charge. We also include a Saturday excursion when 6 or more students are signed up. Students pay any entry fees. The Experiencia Spanish School program has more included hours for the price than any other program that we know of. We also have on campus housing as well as homestay family accommodations. We have a good mix of international students, not just students from the United States.
The school is located at Navarrete # 50 Centro Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico C.P. 61600, in the center of one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico. Patzcuaro, a colonial city, is surrounded by many indigenous communities where you can find a lot of handcrafts, there are also several archaeological sites & beautiful lakes. Besides the Spanish classes, we also offer work shops and cultural activities.
VLC is located within walking distance from the downtown of Guadalajara. Our Spanish courses are designed to develop your grammar, conversation & business language skills. An Activity Coordinator schedules leisure activities to help you experience Guadalajara, and practice your new language skills.
