Online high school diploma in Utah

Park City Independent:
Park City Independent is a fully-accredited, private, year-round online High School open to students in the U.S. and around the world. Students attending PCI have the same benefits of attending and completing courses at a public school with the added benefit of attending a virtual campus from the convenience of their home and at their own pace, time, and schedule. PCI serves students from the public, private, and home school communities. We offer a personalized learning environment designed to help students achieve their educational goals. Park City Independent is accredited through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS) and as such has nationally recognized regional accreditation.

Online Middle School:
Park City Independent offers an accredited Online Middle School program for students in grades 6 through 8. Students attending PCI Online Middle School have the same benefits of attending and completing courses at a public school with the added benefits of taking self-paced, multi-media rich, online courses from their home.

Online High School:
Park City Independent High School offers solutions to help students reach their academic goals. Whether you want to take an individual High School course or are looking for a complete High School Diploma program, PCI Online High School offers the solution.

PCI's High School Diploma programs offers a well-rounded, comprehensive education while providing flexible learning options to meet each students needs. PCI offers the following diploma programs:

* Standard Diploma: For students that complete the minimum graduation requirements.
* College Prep Diploma: For student looking to prepare for college and University.
* Adult Diploma: For Adult learners looking to complete their High School education online.

Subjects offered include Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science, Fine Arts, Foreign Languages such as French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Business Technology, Computer Science and Physical Education.

Repeating a Class:
Students who receive a failing grade in any course at the Academy, or a D grade in a course transferred from another high school, may retake the same class, or an equivalent, and receive the higher grade as a permanent grade. The lower grade will continue to show but the student's GPA will be calculated using only the higher of the grades.

Student Records:
The school maintains a permanent record for each student which includes: subjects taken, grades or achievement evaluation, units of credit, standardized test scores, and health information. This record is confidential and open to parental inspection upon request. When students transfer out of the school, this record will be sent to the new school upon request by the school.

Credit Transfer:
Credits transferring from other institutions will be evaluated and transferred at the school’s discretion. Generally, credit granted by schools accredited through Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, or equivalent regional accreditation associations, will be accepted. Credit granted from other institutions or homeschool instruction may be accepted but is subject to in-depth review and student's will be asked to provide an outline of the topic covered and a report of the assignments and grades given.

High School Graduation:
A total of 24 credit hours is required for graduation. Credits may be transferred from other accredited institutions, but at least fourteen (8) credits must be completed through our school.

High School graduation requirements meet the requirements of the Utah State Board of Education. These requirements ensure that all graduating students are prepared to apply to the college or university of their choice. Our school does not issue D grades. "D" grades from other institutions will not be counted toward graduation. Students not meeting graduation requirements will be given a certified transcript.
