Maintenance Technician – Aberdeen, South Dakota
Job : 41347
Salary: $27‑$31.50 hourly
Benefits: $1,000 and 2 weeks paid vacation for hourly employees
FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Plant Engineer
Job SummaryResponsible for performing maintenance tasks specific to the Maintenance Technician Level I role in a processing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
- Assist in basic troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
- Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
- Comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
- Report equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of mechanical or maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- Lockout/Tagout training.
- Hand tools
- Grease guns
- Basic power tools
- Attention to Detail
- Teamwork
- Safety Awareness
Work is performed in a refrigerated beef processing plant with exposure to cold temperatures, wet conditions, and noise.
Physical Requirements- Lift 50 lbs frequently.
- Stand/walk for up to 10 hours.
- Bend, stoop, kneel.
Shift: As assigned, including weekends; overtime as needed.
