Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Worker

Job Title

This position participates in the maintenance, repair, and custodial cleaning of county facilities and grounds.

Major duties include:

• Caring for lawns, plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Mowing lawns; trimming shrubs and trees.
• Removing and replacing trees and shrubs; maintaining and installing landscaping; installing mulch.
• Performing general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and other functions.
• Collecting trash from county property.
• Maintaining offices, hallways, and restrooms; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; cleaning furniture and windows; cleaning all surfaces, walls, windows, bathrooms, etc.
• Removing snow and ice from sidewalks.
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms.
• Loading, unloading, assembling, and moving furniture, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Spraying pesticides and herbicides.
• Performing related duties.
